Pass the “Talking Feather” — A Wisdom Circle Practice

Each person ‘holds’ a (virtual) “Talking Feather” when sharing with group members in the Wisdom Circle Conversations.

Everyone listens to the person/‘holder’ of the “Talking Feather” without interruption when she is sharing.

The Native American tradition of using a talking feather (or talking stick) helps to ensure everyone has a voice in the wisdom circle.

The virtual passing of the talking feather focuses everyone’s attention on one speaker at a time, until everyone who chooses to contribute is heard.
