Woodland Circle
Roots Nurturing Singing Circle
A capella singing circle in the woods - come and sing in harmony among the trees! Take time, space and a deep breath. All abilities welcome.
It is a fact deeply known by many that singing is good for you. Singing roots us; it connects us to ourselves and when we do it in a group, it connects us to others. When we sing together, something truly unique happens that is hard to describe. It is never the same twice, can only happen with others and will be experienced differently by each and every member of the circle.
Singing can be empowering, uplifting and moving. It can also be nerve-wracking, scary and unknown. Our singing circles aren't about judging yourself, or being perfectly in time or in tune. They're about trusting yourself just enough to give it a go, for the pure enjoyment of it. You deserve that!
Numbers for my circles are kept small to allow for a fully immersive, connected, nurturing and therapeutic experience. While this isn't a therapy group, as a psychotherapist I hold all my circles in a way that is informed by my training, knowledge and many years of experience and there is always a therapeutic element that you can lean into should you wish. These circles are about turning up as you and giving yourself the chance to really check in and connect with yourself. Gift yourself a moment where you don’t have to hold anything, you can just be.
This nurturing monthly singing circle is more than purely singing; we will find a moment to take a breath, feel our feet on the ground, soak in the richness that the woodland has to offer and drop into connection with ourselves, before singing in beautiful harmony with each other. To end, we create a holding circle with our final song of the morning, into which members of the circle can step, stand, sit or lie and soak up the full sound. We then take a moment of reflection and quiet at the end to really savour the circle before heading home.
Don't worry if you have never done anything like this before, or it sounds daunting - all the songs are learned by ear and I will support anyone who needs it. We will sing a range of songs; old and new, some fun and uplifting and others slower and more relaxing.
There is a short 2-3 minute walk through the woodland (including some steps) to where we will be singing. If you have any mobility concerns or any questions at all, please get in touch and I will do my best to answer them.
As the woods we meet in are private, you will be sent the exact location once you buy a ticket.
